» Songtaew |
| |
|
RED colored converted pickup trucks with two long bench seats facing each other
serve as the island’s local bus service. They follow set routes to and from most
destinations around the island. The destination is clearly marked in English on
the front or back of the vehicle. Daytime rates are between Bt40-Bt60 per
passenger, depending on where you are going. After 9 p.m., you may have to
charter a songtaew if you want to travel between different resorts and rate
vary.

the details. |

» Bicycle |
| |
| Good quality mountain bikes can be rented at
many places around the island for around Bt150 a
day. They are ideal for those who want to

| » Yellow
taxi |
|
Air-conditioned car taxis are in yellow. Most
have meters but many taxi drivers prefer a
negotiated fare. So make sure you ask the driver
to use the meter before you set off, or if not,
settle on a price before you start.

their colored, numbered vests. For short

as they can dodge in and out of traffic. Fares
